Therma-Stor

Electrical Engineering Intern

April - December 2018 • Madison, WI

What I liked

It was a very independent work style. I was given the specs of a project at the beginning of the summer, and I spent most of my summer working on that. Towards the end of the summer, I started helping on another project, which I continued to aid on in the fall semester. I was given all of the tools, and it was up to me to figure out how to use them. I definitely gained a lot of knowledge in the field, and I can now have an educated conversation with other companies about industry.

What I wish was different

It's a small company, so there weren't many interns besides me. Some days were very slow, as we had to wait for shipments from other suppliers.

Advice

Try to get involved early on projects, otherwise some days will be a whole lot of nothing.
