What I liked

My project was challenging but definitely pushed me in the greatest way possible. I learned an incredible amount from the company and enjoyed the collaborative work environment.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to have more intern networking opportunities either in social events or in group chat. Networking with employees in other departments can be difficult, but should be done more often to understand the company better as a whole.

Advice

Ask questions when you’re unsure about a topic, it shows you’re engaging with what is being presented to you and that you want to have complete understanding. Also, it’s okay not to know everything about your project or company immediately, it’s an internship for a reason.

What I liked

I enjoyed the independence of choosing which projects I wanted to help in, the ability to interact with different departments, and the friendly environment with coworkers who were willing to help .

What I wish was different

I wish that I had negotatited my hourly rate and had more training on understanding the industry and its roles. Also, I wish that I was the only intern in the Finance and Accounting Department so I was difficult to balance my roles.

Advice

I would recommend understanding the biotechnology industry and talk and network with as much professionals as possible. It is hard work but enjoy the process.
