Accounting Intern

September 2022 - May 2023 • Brownsville, TX

What I liked

I liked how I started with no experience to gaining a much better knowledge of what accounting is. This internship allowed me to apply what I learned to the real world where I learned how to better track my expenses for my business.

What I wish was different

Honestly I would say I would've wanted the internship to last longer. But because I got offered a job right after within the same department, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Advice

I would say to go for it! If you see a position for an internship but aren't sure, just apply! Who knows? You might've found your dream job.

Office Assistant

June - July 2018 • Edinburg, TX

What I liked

I liked my coworkers and the helpful atmosphere my supervisors created. I also enjoyed working with the children of Raymondville and Lyford.

What I wish was different

We were a new branch of our organization, so a lot of our time was spent building it from the ground up on the job. I would have liked for our workday to be a little more organized, but I understand we were in a difficult position.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share is that working with several children is a daunting task. There are a lot of different desires, needs, challenges, maturity levels etc. You must remain patient as the children are the most important part of the job.
