The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Sociology Research Assistant

August 2021 - May 2022 • Chapel Hill, NC

What I liked

I enjoyed creating the data we used for the audit study I worked on. We used basic code which was a nice refresher for Python as I hadn't used it in a few semesters. I also liked working on a team and biweekly updates on how the study was going.

What I wish was different

I wish I was assigned to do more and be more involved in the research. While I was an important part of the team, I wanted to do more of the analysis of the data.

Advice

Ask questions. Always try and be more involved or ask if you can work on other projects. I was able to assist in a secondary project within the study a few months in, and I feel like it really enhanced my experience.
