What I liked
I had multiple great experiences working with a wide array of patients in the Emergency Department.
What I wish was different
Nothing. Each task assigned to me helped me learn something new either about medicine or how it’s practiced.
Advice
I would keep a journal. Each day is so different in the ER, and it helps to have those memories organized.

What I liked
The environment allowed me to learn and grow as a scientist. Everyone will make mistakes the first time doing something new, and in this position I made several mistakes, however, the mark of a truly nurturing environment is one where you are able to learn and eventually find independence in the workplace. My mentors were phenomenal and have led me to becoming a passionate scientist.
What I wish was different
Nothing; I mean this with sincerity.
Advice
Lab work requires dedication. As with anything, what you put in is what you will get out. If you have the goal of becoming published, it is your work ethic and determination that will lead you to those goals.
