The Student Conservation Association

About The Student Conservation Association

Founded in 1957, the Student Conservation Association, Inc., is a national nonprofit organization that advocates for the environment. SCA leads the nation in providing conservation service opportunities, outdoor skills and leadership training. Every year, in all 50 states, thousands of high school, college, graduate students and others join the association to work for national parks and forests, historic and cultural resources, and urban green spaces. SCA’s mission is to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of the environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land.

Wilderness Ranger

May 2021 - August 2021 Wellston, MI
“I loved being able to work outside, help others, and protect the land all at the same time! This job was physically challenging and full of interesting interactions with the public. One of the best parts however was the people I worked with. Interning with the Forest Service I was surrounded by really cool down-to-earth people who all cared about people and the environment as much has I did.”
