What I liked

I liked that SheRise was patient with me in that I didn't have any PR experience. I'm a journalism major so she took the time to explain every term and project to me while also explaining how the project has a correlation to the journalism field. I also liked the types of projects that SheRise assigned me. She allowed me to exercise the creative factor that I have to put into journalism, but in a visual manner.

What I wish was different

I wish that I was given the chance to work on-site with my client, helping her on video shoots and hand-on help with anything else she needed. However, I feel like the tasks SheRise assigned me gave my client the opportunity to focus on other important things.

Advice

Don't be afraid to voice questions about certain things you don't understand or about things you want to do. SheRise makes sure that her internships promote the growth of the intern rather than her company. She wants the interns to do what they want to do and learn what they hope to learn. In doing so, she always comes up with a way to challenge her interns, giving guidance along the way.

What I liked

My experience with the Sherise Enterprise has been amazing. Ms. Ford is one of the most capable professionals in PR and the music industry and has an unmatched entrepreneurial spirit. In the time that I have spent working for her, she has taught me more about PR and promotion regarding the music industry than I had ever previously knew. She has also been willing to work with me regarding my school schedule and is flexible with my time. I believe this is the perfect internship experience for anyone hoping to gain more experience in the music industry and/or PR and promotion in general.

What I liked

Working at the SheRise Enterprise and under the Six Foot Publicist herself, has been an exciting and rewarding experience. Not only have I had the chance to work with and work on projects for clients, I have also learned a lot of new skills and applications in meeting directly with and working directly under SheRise Ford. Her flexibility and understanding of my school schedule as I finish out my degree as well as her ability to communicate and lead me effectively despite the current remote work situation, makes her a great boss.

What I wish was different

Advice

One piece of advice I would give other students is to really be honest with her and communicate your school work load or any other things on your schedule. She is understanding and willing to work with you and very encouraging in showing her support for your career and making sure you get the most out of the position. If you need something, have a question, or want to meet with her, just ask!
