What I liked

I loved my time with The Resource Center because it allowed me to gain experience in my professional field of interest. Being able to spend time with the nurses solidified my career decision to pursue nursing myself. I enjoyed being able to shadow nurses, dentists, and physicians, and learn about their respective careers.

What I wish was different

I do wish I could have had the opportunity to shadow within the hospital setting, but due to COVID-19 this was not a feasible option.

Advice

I would definitely tell others to shadow your career of interest. You will always gain something by doing so!

What I liked

The experience to work with developmentally disabled adults and to create friendships with them and other co-workers.

What I wish was different

The work week is 36 hours, I wish it was a full 40 hours with options for overtime. The resource center is government supported, so wages and hours are not as competitive as some others physical therapy clinics .
