SAT Teacher/Private Tutor

June 2018 - August 2019 • Davis, CA

What I liked

Flexible hours, supportive management, rewarding working with students and developing plans to improve their SAT scores. Paid prep time.

What I wish was different

There weren't very many hours per week of work, 3-hour classes are a long time to teach.

Advice

The first time or two teaching a class or tutoring a student is nerve-wracking, but it becomes easy and fun later! Paid in-person training required before you can get started.

August 2017 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I love the faith my company puts in me to be autonomous, and has a great support system when I need any kind of help.

What I wish was different

I wish classes were scheduled in such a way that would make it feasible to teach back to back classes regularly.

Advice

You have to put in a ton of work on your own and must be self sufficient.
