What I liked
I loved the community and the way the interns were included in the daily operations of the port, and involved in not only our specific assigned intern projects, but also projects that were regular responsibilities of the full-time port members. I worked with the other interns in my cohort, my intern leaders, and various departments, in addition to marketing. I had multiple opportunities for networking, professional development, exploring Norfolk, and celebrating other port members. This experience, I felt was a very authentic view of what it looks like to work with the port as a full-time port member, and I was treated very well!
