What I liked

I liked the location and mission of behind the program. The mission is to serve the greater Philadelphia area by creating meaningful partnerships with organizations already serving the area working to alleviate social dilemmas in the community around them.

Advice

One piece of advice I would share to anyone looking for an internship with this organization is to actively prepare yourself before the start of the internship with an attitude of service and humility. During the internship, my advice is to let the people and places you will work to impact you and to expand the way you view the world around you.

What I liked

I loved a lot about my experience in being to learn new skills, like camera and photography skills, while also being able to use marketing skills that I acquired through school and work experience. I also enjoyed the community and people I had the opportunity to work alongside! They all were very encouraging and patience in teaching new things and growth in every area!

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more time to do more while there, and had more opportunity to learn more about the overall nonprofit organization. It would have helped me to tell the story of the organization a little better than I was doing already.

Advice

Put all of your effort into this experience. If you do not give it you're all then you could find everything very frustrating. Be willing to be flexible and have your schedule change quickly. Be willing to give people grace when working in groups and with others, you will not be the only one stressed and asked to do things at the last minute.
