I loved the people and the culture at PHS. Everyone there truly cares about you and works to truly make you feel like a part of the team. I was given real projects to work on and was rarely just given "busy tasks." In meetings, my thoughts and opinions were truly valued.
What I wish was different
I wish it was not a part-time internship. I would have loved to spend more time there! I have no complaints.
Advice
My advice is talk to as many different people at PHS as possible and learn about the different programs PHS does.

Gardening and Greening Summer Intern

What I liked
It was incredible to gain real-world, practical experience within a nonprofit that I have always been interested in. Everybody was super kind and it was inspiring to see people implementing ideas and projects that involve urban sustainability in a city that really needs it.
What I wish was different
I wish I could have stayed longer! Unfortunately the internship was strictly just for the summer.
Advice
Always make sure to make as many connections as possible at your internship - these people can provide endless resources to you long after you are done working there!
