I enjoyed connecting with members of my community as we worked together to help bolster a strong democracy. We achieved this by educating the electorate, registering fellow voters, and ensuring people voted either by mail or early in-person if possible.
What I wish was different
The obvious wish is that COVID hadn't happened, as that changed campaigning this year in a lot of ways. However, in addition to that, what I wish had been different is that more of our local candidates that we were campaigning for won their races.
Advice
Make sure to invest in a good pair of shoes for knocking doors and/or dropping literature, bring jerky or dog treats in case of dogs (normally not an issue though), and know that campaign organizing is a 24/7 gig during the election season (meaning you're going to work a lot more than what you're going to get paid for).

What I liked
The people and coworkers I worked with were amazing. It was a good introduction to campaign work.
What I wish was different
It was A LOT of work. There is no separation between work and life but that's the culture in campaigns.
Advice
Take as many opportunities to take initiative as possible. Campaign work is only what you make out of it.
