I loved the people that I worked with and the atmosphere in the store.
What I wish was different
Other than the everyday retail life, I frankly enjoyed working there.
Advice
I would suggest having a background in the outdoors, be it hiking, skiing, etc., because it really improves the understanding of the equipment and customer interactions.

What I liked
I loved the environment and the people. I also liked the access to new clothing and old clothing. Having this job taught me about working in retail--especially how to work with a wide array of customers.
What I wish was different
I wish that sales associates were given more hours. No associated were allowed to get more than 30 hours per two-week pay period.
Advice
Working in retail can be very miserable sometimes but it is also rewarding. Customers can be difficult but they can also be gracious and kind. I would recommend working in retail if you are a person who needs a little push to break out of your shell.
