The employees at The Master Lock Company were very smart, friendly, and helpful. The hands on experience The Master Lock Company provided me with was exceptional. College courses certainly help with preparation for work, but the experiences that I have gained from the internship are far more valuable than any course I have taken. I am very happy with the experience The Master Lock Company provided me with.

What I liked

I liked the learning opportunities, from gaining an understanding of the interactions between IT and the business to working on various skill-building projects in new areas like MDM. This internship helped me to get several good job offers in IT and related fields.

What I wish was different

More structure in the initial month of the internship would have been helpful.

Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op

What I liked

Technical experience using CAD programs that are actually used in industry (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Etc).

What I wish was different

It would’ve been nice to have more than 8 months. A 3 term co-op would be excellent.

Advice

Opportunities present themselves and you can’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
