It was a tight knit-community. I was given a stipend along with housing and meals since it was a boarding school. I was able to explore all aspects of education ranging form teaching in the classroom, to being a resident visitant in the dorms, coaching a sport and taking the students on weekend trips.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a little more free time since the job can be tiring (but rewarding!) but the people there are flexible and very understanding. This internship is also only 5 weeks long so it gives you time over the summer to do other things.
Advice
Make connections with students and the head teachers of the classrooms. Collaborating and bonding with the other interns are also a vital part of your experience at Loomis Chaffee.
