What I liked

This internship provided me a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and work in Aspen CO for an affordable price. The Little Nell offers a wide range of internship opportunities, and allows interns to learn from company leadership. The formal environment also teaches a higher level of service and rewards commitment.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been more willing to make connections higher up in the company, and to talk to leadership. The Little Nell's upper management is happy to talk to interns and is constantly visible in day to day operations. I also wish we could have had more staff, as the work environment was often very stressful, however at this time understaffing is to be expected anywhere one goes.

Advice

When choosing what outlet to apply to I strongly recommend AM at Element 47. While having to be at work at 6:30AM five days a week seems daunting it allows you to explore the great area around Aspen after work. The AM shift also allows for a more relaxed environment while still earning the tips one would expect from a fine dining restaurant.
