What I liked

I loved the ability to try a different job and be able to meet so many new people. The fast pace work environment helped me to learn how to be more efficient, time management and to remember even the smallest details. Going to work this summer felt more like a hobby than actually a job.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more experience as a waitress. This summer was the first time I have ever had a job at a restaurant, especially one that has a high volume. I feel as though if I had another another couple months there I would be more accustomed to how the whole system works. But for a summer, I feel as though I am well trained and good at what I do.

Advice

Confidence is key. I learned very quickly that I had to fully believe in myself that I could handle everything going on. The second I saw a busy section or a big party of people, I knew that I was up for the challenge and the stress melted away.
