I really enjoyed working with the children and learning how accommodate the swim curriculum to the campers needs and interests.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more support from upper management. Often times it felt like my Program Lead was not supported in the ways that Swim deserved.
Advice
Be very open to compromise and sometimes you will have to do things that you may not expect like lead campwide meetings or activities.

Digital Marketing and Social Media Intern

What I liked
I loved the people. The company went above and beyond helping me grow professionally. I got to learn about different aspects of the company outside of my position as well as got the opportunity to work under a mentor who provided guidance throughout my internship. Not only that but they provided me advice pertaining to my future and what I should be striving towards as I begin my job search.
What I wish was different
I wish I got the opportunity to work more closely with the Director of Marketing as well as learn more about the different platforms and backgrounds used throughout the different sectors of the company.
Advice
Everyone throughout the company provided me with constructive advice that I will carry with me throughout life. They understand the position you are in because they too have been there. The best advice I could give is to listen to what they are saying because they only want what is best for you and will help you grow. These connections are key so maintain them because the Headfirst Company will help you in more ways than you thought.

Camp Counselor

What I liked
It was a great job experience that allowed me to gain skills that are applicable to any setting. For example, providing emotional support and problem solving when the kids had any issues was a large part of my work. Those are skills that can only be gained through experiences and I value the role that that will play as I move forward in my career goals.
