I truly felt like my work was making an impact. Having important conversations daily with people about environmental issues is important, and I'm so happy I was able to ignite these conversations.
What I wish was different
Canvassing from 3:30-8:30 everyday was pretty exhausting, and then having to head back to the office afterwards to debrief and put numbers in made the day even longer. It was only really tough on hot days!
Advice
This job taught me many things, but most importantly was communication skills. Having hundreds of conversations about different environmental issues made me feel very confident in my speaking skills.

What I liked
I loved moving around counties and informing the inhabitants about the issue at hand such as the growing issues stemmed from the use of single-use plastics like polystyrene.
What I wish was different
I wish I had worked on policy making and not canvass all the time.
Advice
Be sure you love the what you’re doing rather than the money because that’s going to keep you going.
