What I liked
The people were very kind and it was a very important experience I think everyone should have.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to be more hands-on in their court cases, but I know that isn't necessarily what I am there for.
Advice
It is very emotionally draining but worth it so find a way you feel comfortable to be able to decompress after a day at the shelter.

Make sure you know you can handle the gravity of the work before throwing yourself in, and make sure you know how to take care of yourself during it.
