Inspecting the contractors allowed me to appreciate the hours of work that goes into construction. Acquiring design experience and seeing my designs being bid on was an incredible feeling.
What I wish was different
I wish I learned more about the work that goes into a project as far as the pre-bidding and bidding process. I wish I was able to inspect larger projects that used heavy machinery.
Advice
It is a great way to get your feet wet. Although not an engineering firm, it was important to learn about the municipality aspect of projects, ordinances and permits required to move forward with any projects.
