I love CORE's mission and that it's so easy to see how their mission plays out. I also enjoyed that I worked in a smaller department so my work was individualized and could be recognized as "mine" to anyone in the organization. Working at CORE has been an incredible confidence booster for me as I was able to learn and apply my skills and see how they improve a company. I've never felt like I was just an "intern," as they gave me a lot of responsibility. I appreciated that so much!
What I wish was different
I wish the pay was higher, but they are a non-profit so I understand why it is not.
Advice
Just because you've never heard of a company before doesn't mean they're not amazing. Don't be afraid to talk to anyone at career fairs, I wasn't and that's how I got my internship.
