I got the opportunity to work hands-on with survivors of sexual assault through manning the hotline as well as taking hospital calls. Through this I feel like I was able to practice skills related to therapy/counseling, which is my primary area of interest.
What I wish was different
I wish that the staff had been more prepared and organized, gave me a more in-depth summary of what it was they were employing me to do, and compensated me monetarily.
