The Broad is a great company to work at. It has great benefits like a lot of vacation days and a lot of holidays off including the week between Christmas and New Years.

What I liked
I loved practicing organic synthesis in the development of small molecule development for enzyme inhibitors and working in an organic chemistry lab. I also got to attend research meetings with the leading minds of the Broad and Genomic Cancer research on critical and developing projects which was fascinating.
What I wish was different
At the time I had only taken organic chemistry and introductiory biology. I am currently taking Genetics and Biochemistry which if I had taken before my internship, would have helped me a lot in understanding critical aspects of my research and the general implications beyond organic synthesis.
Advice
Definetally make sure that you identify the general field that you are working with and read up on it well before the internship. I definetally red a lot during the first few weeks to better understand what I was working with, but It would have been nice to have actually taken courses which introduced me to the Genomic and Biochemical research that I was associated with.
