I liked that I got to work with kids and it was a very laid-back environment. I had to supervise the teens but also just have conversations with them and play games with them. All the staff was so nice and helpful.
What I wish was different
The center was only open to teens from 1pm to 6pm so thats when I would volunteer. I wish I could've volunteered earlier in the day.
Advice
It's hard sometimes to make conversation with teenagers if they don't want to talk to you but the easiest thing is to just find things that you might have in common with them and then they start to open up.
