The Boldt Company

Project Engineer Intern

May 2022 • Cannon Falls, MN

What I liked

I got to be onsite for a project all summer! Everyone at Boldt embraces interns by teaching them about all construction parts, not just the position you're interning for. My mentors onsite were amazing.

What I wish was different

I have no complaints about the internship. They kept me busy but not too busy because they wanted me to go onsite to learn in person and get exposure to things I only heard about in class.

Advice

Leave your pride at the door and walk in with no fear. This is your chance to ask questions and make mistakes. You're an intern so no one expects you to know anything. Everyone started at the bottom knowing nothing that's why they want you to ask questions and absorb all the info they're giving you. Learn all you can!

Organizational Development

May - August 2019 • Appleton, WI

What I liked

I liked the team that I worked with. They were all lovely people who brightened up my day and made me feel welcomed. I liked helping them out with whatever they needed because they were all very busy.

What I wish was different

I worked in the office of a construction company doing organizational development work, but I wish I had gotten to see more job sites. I got to tour a few job sites while taking pictures and videos for the company, but I would have liked to see more.

Advice

For anybody who would like to become an intern, I would tell them to be positive and willing to go above and beyond what is expected of you. I received a lot of praise at the end of my internship for always being positive, finishing my work on time, and being eager to receive more work.
