The Bellows Law Group

Legal Research Intern

May - August 2018 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I was able to find the niche of law that I would like to practice and revive a passion for pursuing law since I am actively applying to law schools right now. I also met several high profile attorney's and judges in the Chicago area who gave me great advice and regarding the field and showed me how they apply the law to issues like human trafficking, forced labor, and corporate social responsibility.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more direction, but in such a field it is difficult to provide it since everyday work is dependent on the research we find.

Advice

Don't be afraid to take initiative. When I first got to work, I was very shy and frankly scared of my boss, but as time went on I was encouraged to speak up and ask questions and take initiative for things and create my own projects. Once I got over that hump, I able to produce more meaningful work.
