I appreciate the hands-on experience. I had the chance to apply the design practices I learned at school on the job. Having the new exhibit contain and display things that I've created feels amazing.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more communication with the design team and the permanent staff. Everyone was easy and nice to work with, but some standards and requirements were not made clear.
Advice
I started as a summer camp counselor at the Bakken. I expressed my interest in the new exhibit going in and I had the chance to move to that job instead. Use personal networks to find what job you are actually looking for.
