Working closely with the editor-in-chief allowed me to further understand and experience the role of a graphic designer. I enjoyed drafting ideas for review and receiving feedback. I felt as though my work was valued and appreciated. Seeing our project come to fruition was one of the most rewarding experiences. The editor-in-chief is pleasant, collaborative, and offers incredible feedback. I feel that I am welcome back for additional projects as an intern.
What I wish was different
I wish the internship hadn’t ended so soon.
Advice
Collaborate and communicate with your immediate supervisor. It’s easier to draft ideas for review and adjust them as you go than it is to create elaborate pieces that are not suitable for the project. It saves time and allows for greater creativity, sense of collaboration, and productivity.
