Texas Department of Public Safety

Internal Auditor Intern

June - August 2019 • Austin, TX

What I liked

The office that I worked in this past summer was a very opened office. All employees welcomed me with open arms and helped groom me into a better professional in the period of time that I spent with them. This was my first internship in the field of Auditing and I found it a very amazing experience.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have came in to the internship with more mental preparedness. It was a full-time job so I worked 40 hours weekly and it was very tiring but a very rewarding experience. This got me prepared for post-graduation life.

Advice

One piece of advice that I would like to share with others about my experience is to be opened to any experiences no matter your feelings about it. Each new experience can be a lesson both positive and negative.
