Finance and Accounting Intern

What I liked
The internal audit and the business planning &analysis teams were very welcoming and helpful. They taught us a lot through presentations and giving the interns tasks to assist on projects.
What I wish was different
Although most of the internship was in-person, I wish the entire internship was in person because meeting professionals and making connections is very valuable.
Advice
It’s important to try learning excel prior to the start because it will make the intensas audit team tasks that are assigned easier to complete without needing as much guidance.

What I liked
That I learned how to use power tools!
Great mentor.
Competitive pay.
What I wish was different
Wish I interacted with the other interns more.
During the interview process, when asking what the job is like, they beat around the bush and were very dull in their answer.
Be careful if you are a woman you will be harrassed day in and out.
Advice
If they reach out to you, do not answer!

Sales Representative Intern
June - July 2020 • Tustin, CA
What I liked
I liked getting to learn more about sales and how very structured organizations work and promote.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had had more desk-time projects rather than just doing in-aisle selling. I did not like the in-aisle selling very much and really enjoyed the more analytic and thought-provoking projects they provided me.
Advice
Sales experience is great and really important for a lot of jobs, but I would recommend being a sales rep for a product you are really passionate about!

Industrial Design Intern
September - December 2020 • Anderson, SC
What I liked
I had the opportunity to work on real projects with extremely talented coworkers. The team is so large and diverse that you can almost always find an expert to help you with any skill you would like to learn. Their internship program stands head and shoulders above others because the staff will often go out of their way to help you succeed.
What I wish was different
I wish i had a bit more variety between concept and production work. Since the internship is only 4 months long, I was largely put on conceptual projects that I could not carry to market.
Advice
Ask as many questions as possible to learn more about the industry/improve your design skills.

Sales/Marketing Intern
May - August 2018 • Louisville, KY
What I liked
TTI has an absolutely phenomenal intern program. Not only do you learn about business process, but you have the opportunity to learn from corporate mentors. There is a culture of excitement and excellence within this organization and it is evident when working with team members.
It is also a global company. This company is growing quickly and they have opportunities for work all over the world. TTI likes to hire young, and they like to hire within.
What I wish was different
I interned with this company two years, 2017 and 2018. While there was a little bit of change in the program my second year, I wish there had been a little bit more focus on application of what I had learned the previous year. Thankfully, the Sales Rep I interned with really helped me apply the skills I learned the previous year.
Advice
Come ready to learn. If you haven't been in a sales role before, it will be a very eye opening experience. Also, be willing to get out of your comfort zone and have a good work ethic. This is a company who values hard work and thinking outside of the box. I highly recommend!

Field Sales and Marketing Intern
May - August 2017 • Orlando, FL
What I liked
It was very interactive and everyone on the team was willing to help me learn the industry and succeed. I was given a lot of freedom to see if I could implement what I learned from class into the real world and always received constructive feedback. My manager was very active in my internship and helped me to grow professionally tremendously and never scrutinized me for not knowing something. My mentor helped me gain confidence in myself as a salesperson and always had my best interest at heart. In just 10-12 weeks I learned so much about the company and it was a great experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I could've interacted with other interns a little more
Advice
Really immerse yourself into the internship and watch the training videos and product knowledge ones because it will get you excited to sell.

Field Sales and Marketing Rep
May - August 2017 • Atlanta, GA
What I liked
On-hands learning experience, laid-out plan of what to expect during the internship, great management team
What I wish was different
Even though this is considered a marketing internship, this is a SALES oriented internship, very little marketing at all
Advice
If you can choose your stores/location, pick to work in a single store because you get to know your coworkers better and there is a LOT less travel time
