Market Development Intern

January - April 2022 • Eden Prairie, MN

What I liked

The people here truly care to see you succeed. Everyone you meet is awesome. I grew so much personally and professionally during this experience. Could not recommend it more!

What I wish was different

I wish I would've done this internship during the summer. Occasionally it was difficult to balance giving both my classes and the internship my all. Plus, I had a full course during it.

Advice

Connect and network with as many people as you can! You have the ability to meet with (almost) anyone you're curious about so take advantage of it.

Market Development Intern

January - April 2022 • Eden Prairie, MN

What I liked

This internship program is incredible! Not only do you get to work on projects that have an actual impact on the Taylor brand, but you also get to participate in personal development training, meet important people throughout the company in weekly meetings (including the founder, CEO, CMO, VP of Sales, etc.), and become an expert on Taylor throughout the time you work there. Everyone I met along the way was super nice, and willing to help you in any way they could.

What I wish was different

I would've probably sought a position within their marketing department instead, but with my managers knowing my interests I was still able to do marketing related work. I would have also liked to be doing this internship while taking fewer classes -- the summer interns are lucky!

Advice

Go in with an open mindset, set big goals, and look at every opportunity as a chance to grow.

What I liked

I loved the network of professionals within Taylor. They push you and are always there to make you a better person and employee. The personal development was astounding; they really want you to grow to become young professionals. The community of interns was also great, and we get close over the course of the internship.

What I wish was different

My internship was online, so I wish it could have been in-person, but with the pandemic, that would've been very difficult.

Advice

Take advantage of all of the resources that Taylor provides for you. You will get out what you put into the internship, and be willing to go out of your comfort zone to grow.

What I liked

I liked the hands- on experience we had learning about the new world of sales. Other positives were a very supportive manager, flexible work, networking opportunities with high- level executives and both personal and professional growth opportunities.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more time in my schedule to put towards the internship.

Advice

This internship is a great experience for any college student that is looking to go into sales. You will be surrounded with experienced professionals and many opportunities to grow, but it is up to you to take the initiative to challenge yourself and learn!

Graphic Design Intern

February 2019 • North Mankato, MN

What I liked

The variety of projects I got.

What I wish was different

If I had more information about the projects I was working on.

Advice

That you need to ask questions and not just take work without knowing the ins, outs and why of your projects/assignments.

Marketing Intern

May 2019 • North Mankato, MN

What I liked

I liked the fact that I could grow as an intern. When I began my internship my projects were mainly based around marketing aspects, but I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge in the graphic design field. I slowly took on entry level graphic design projects, and I am now the POC for 2 of them. I was also involved in an SEO project, where I spent 2 months researching and collecting data for an internal company. At the end of those 2 months I gave a presentation showing what I had found and helped a company improve their online presence.

What I wish was different

Going into my internship I wish that I would have learned more information about some of my areas of interest at MNSU. Areas such as SEO, analytics, excel, and project management.

Advice

Always ask questions and keep asking for more. If there is an area that you want to get more knowledge in, ask for it! The point of an internship is to give you exposure to all of your areas of interest and more. For example, I wanted to get graphic design experience and SEO exposure, so I simply asked if I could receive projects with a focus on these topics and Taylor was happy to accommodate.
