What I liked

My favorite part of my job was the work environment. Yes, I could have gone anywhere else that offered higher pay but my co-workers were the reason I stayed as long as I did. They have all become a second family to me inside and outside of work. Without their emotional support, I don't think I would be the same person that I am today.

What I wish was different

I wish I had gotten the raise I was promised. I've worked there long enough that I was basically an assistant manager. It even got to the point where I was teaching the new shift managers how to open and close the store. The excuse Upper management used (not the general manager but the one above him) was that I was going back to college so a raise would be pointless.

Advice

Know your worth. A job isn't always about how much you get paid, but how you are treated while you are on the clock.
