US Intermediaries Intern

May - August 2022 • Baltimore, MD

What I liked

There was a variety of projects that I gained exposure to. this summer was an opportunity to expand my academic interests into a different industry, and refine my marketing and networking skills.

What I wish was different

I wish I had the opportunity to travel to the company's New York or Colorado office to experience a different city.

Advice

Treat internships like an ongoing interview. Always show up prepared and enthusiastic to contribute 100% of your effort. Dont be afraid to ask questions because it not only helps you learn, but it showcases your personal desire to grow and develop intellectual curiosity which will stand out to your boss/manager.

Rotational Summer Intern

May - August 2019 • Owings Mills, MD

What I liked

The entire program was AMAZING! The Summer Internship program offers a variety of positions throughout the company, ranging from finance to IT. The company culture was awesome. My intern cohort became my closest friends that summer. The rotational program in my department, USI, allowed me to experience different aspects to the business. I also loved the mentors we each were assigned as well as the close relationship with the internship program leaders.

What I wish was different

I had received an offer in November/December for the summer. Throughout the spring, there was little communication; I wasn't provided updates until April regarding housing, stipends, location etc. I wish I was able to know the logistics of my location as I needed to find housing given that I am not from MD.

Advice

Be ready to challenge yourself professionally. The program offers luncheons with important executives at T. Rowe, one included the CFO. The assignments within each rotation often require sit-ins or interviews with different associates. You will also give several presentations to top management.
