Mechanical Engineering Internship

September 2022 • Clinton Township, MI

What I liked

All of the work I completed at this company was integral to the growth and establishment of it. The entire role was soley driven by the intern and required no one to look over my shoulder. I was trusted with a great deal of tasks which helped build my organization for projects as well as eye to detail. Additionally they did work with non profit companies which had a huge impact back on the community.

What I wish was different

Nothing. The communication between the employees was perfect and the expectations were set before me from the get go.

Advice

This job is task oriented and is not for people who are not willing to put in the work. All of the company's expectations of the intern were given at the interview and upheld perfectly. As long as you try they are willing to work with you and help you learn.

Engineering Intern

May - August 2021 • Clinton Township, MI

What I liked

I got to be involved with every aspect of the company. Every single thing I did for the company was important. I was treated as a valuable member of the team and not as an intern. I got to program CNCs and robots, be involved in laser heat treating, metal additive manufacturing projects and jobs, and even do cutting edge research that could be patentable and change the induction mold industry.

What I wish was different

I wish that maybe the company was just a touch more established. This is something that is in process and looks promising, but due to the time that I joined it was still a younger company. This means that I had to do some more of technician work. I would not even say that that is a bad thing however for an internship because it widened my skillset and experience.

Advice

You can do cool things here if you would like. If you have any ideas share it, because people will listen.
