Student Life Center Facilities Supervisor

What I liked

I loved how amazing my bosses were. Everyone at the student life center are so friendly and helpful it’s like a big family.

What I wish was different

Being that I live in the city and the minimum wage is $15 an hour, I wish that I could get paid more.

Take advantage of the hours that you can pick up! Make friends and enjoy your experience.

What I liked

Location was very convenient for me and I was also able to work with friends.

What I wish was different

The shifts started at 6 am so waking up before then four days a week during the summer was rough but it was worth it in the end because the work day ended earlier around 2 pm.

Advice

Me and my coworkers had a lot of fun while working but we had to make sure we were getting our job done. Work can still be enjoyable as long as progress is being made.

What I liked

I loved the experience I was gaining and getting to work one on one with a professor taught me so much. It also gave me the chance to meet other students on campus doing similar work or interested in the same sort of career path in the future.

Nothing! it was an awesome experience overall.

Don't be afraid to reach out to someone and ask questions, you never know what doors might open with a small conversation.

What I liked

This job gives you a sense of purpose. You know that you are working to help students have a great orientation experience at SUNY Cortland and you know that you are accomplishing that: you can see it on their faces.

This job has long hours. When you apply and accept this job, be aware of your personal health needs; you will need to be able to work under pressure and with little sleep.
