Sunwest Bank

Analyst Intern

June - November 2020 • Irvine, CA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the type of responsibilities I was given. Being at a smaller bank, I was given a lot more hands-on tasks on both the commercial lending and real estate lending teams. Overall, it was a fast-paced but exciting opportunity.

What I wish was different

I wish I was given more consistent responsibilities. For example, because there were two other interns, some days only one of us was given all of the work and some days I had most of the work. On occasion, nobody had tasks to give to any of us.

You definitely get out of this experience what you put into it. They want to see hardworking interns who are willing to go the extra mile and who do not just sit around when they are finished with their current task. If you do get an internship at this company, you have to be willing to ask a lot of questions and always be open to taking on new tasks. Also, being able to work on a team with other interns is essential.
