The Woodlawn-based Sunshine Gospel Ministries established Sunshine Enterprises in 2012, as a strategic initiative focusing exclusively on entrepreneurship and economic development. It operates the Community Business Academy, a twelve-week training course covering the basic mechanics of running a business, and Business Accelerator
Services, which provides specialized workshops and coaching to address individual business needs. Its co-working facility further supports businesses by providing access to dedicated office space, meeting rooms, and shared workstations.
Sunshine recognizes entrepreneurship as a key pathway out of poverty. We’re working with entrepreneurs in Woodlawn and beyond to start and grow businesses in struggling communities to help build stronger, safer neighborhoods. We do this by providing in-depth training and assistance to a wide range of entrepreneurs, thereby empowering individuals on the route to economic self-sufficiency.
