SUN Pharma

Sales Training Intern

June - September 2019 • Princeton, NJ

What I liked

Working at SUN this summer was an incredible experience. Not only was I allowed to do hands-on work; sitting in on business meetings with VPs, and participating in offsite vendor consultations, I was also able to create the content that the trainers use in the field to train sales representatives. I created and presented an activity at a product launch in Chicago, and traveled to Dallas to attend a life sciences training conference. I also worked alongside several other interns who quickly became good friends of mine and made life-long connections.

What I wish was different

I am a communications major and was promised from the start by my supervisor that I would get to work with the Communications department. However it kept getting postponed, so I took the initiative of reaching out to the department. I then spent my last couple weeks writing articles, redesigning the quarterly newsletter, and learning about corporate communications. My only wish was to spend more time in that department, and fortunately they are the ones who have asked me to return in a few weeks.

Advice

The one piece of advice I'd have is to make as many connections as possible. I was always sure to say yes when someone from a different department asked for help on a project. Through this I was able to make so many more connections outside of my department.
