Business Program Mentor

What I liked

All of the costs of living were covered- including housing in the dorms and food for meals each day. They even went above and beyond by giving us $20 for lunch or dinner every day, so that we could eat out and get something besides the dining hall food.

What I wish was different

I wish the pay would have been a bit better in retrospect.

Advice

I would say that it was an incredibly valuable experience, and that I would recommend working with students in a leadership role.

Resident Assistant

June - August 2019 • Berkeley, CA

What I liked

I liked that it was a good program that really helped high school students have experience in the fields they are interested in working in.

What I wish was different

I wish the company would have listened to the Resident Assistants more because we were the ones having to impliment the ideas they had.

Advice

Go in with an open mind.

Resident Assistant

What I liked

It was a very supportive environment with lots of room to make individual choices and do your own thing. It also includes great perks like free housing on Yale's campus, all meals paid for, and free trips to NYC and Boston.

What I wish was different

I wish that there would have been more transparency on how much and when i would be paid. It ended up being less than I assumed, and it came at random times throughout my summer.

Advice

I think it was great to do this for the summer. Even though I couldn't do it forever, I think I learned a lot from the short time I was there.
