What I liked

I loved working with a small team and having full control over the design and execution of our technological backend, as well as the trust in my work without supervision. I also got to work with a team of brilliant professionals who were incredibly wise and willing to share in their knowledge of business and the beauty industry, as well as accept my mistakes gracefully and keep pushing me to do my best.

What I wish was different

The environment obviously because of the coronavirus was incredibly tense, and we had to pivot frequently in order to adapt to daily changing global practices. Namely, launching an entire e-commerce platform was an incredible amount of work to shove into a 3 month timeline, and the work weeks were often very long.

Advice

Taking a job that seems to be above your skill-level is a very scary, but incredibly rewarding experience. Pushing yourself to the limit is the fastest way to grow and expand your skills as a professional. Conversely, self-care and knowing your limits can help you prevent burnout and allow you to truly enjoy your work rather than becoming lost in it.
