I liked being able to have job on campus which allowed me to feel closer to the Suffolk community.

What I wish was different

I wish we either had more tasks to get done during the day or have shorter shifts.

Advice

I advise any students who take this job to make sure they ready to take on-call shifts and be ready for possible conflicts with conference guests.

Giving tours to perspective students who I later was able to see on campus because they chose to attend Suffolk.

It is an amazing feeling knowing that students put down a deposit after hearing about your experience, if you choose to do this be honest with perspective students and share with them what you love about the university.

I get to interact directly with families and new students as well as directly experience being a leader handling over 1,000 students and working with multiple different kinds of groups and solve problems together.

I wish I took more advantage of all the trainings and networking opportunities.

Advice

Make sure you are committed to the job because the time commitment as well as the strict schedule might not be for everyone. Go into it with an open mind to improve your skills.

If you get a chance to working on Suffolk Campus, do not take for granted. Take advantage of it and learn as much as you can because that is what's gonna help in the long run.
