I liked that I was able to experience and learn about how different machines work. Things that I did include helping out research scientists on their projects as well as looking at objects under microscopes. Not only that but I also liked how friendly everyone was and so welcoming. I also enjoyed working with a lot of different technologies and equipment.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could've learned how to use different equipment earlier rather than later. Also, that I could've been put on a project sooner. I wish my efforts could've been focused on specific problems rather than just working on tedious tasks. Not only that but also given some general overview on why I was doing what I was doing.
Advice
One piece of advice I would share would be not to be afraid to go find someone to see what they are doing or ask if they need any help. A lot of the employees would assume you have been given something to do so they won't come seek you out. Sometimes it was needed to go and look to see what they were doing and ask questions or even see if you could help them. Also being able to ask to see if anyone needs help will allow for more people to know you and get them to give you more work to do.
