Student Intern

May - August 2018 • Washington, DC

What I liked

The office was small, about 20 people and there were 5 other interns I was working with. I felt that I really got to learn about and understand the company and the work that they do. I also was able to regularly converse with senior leadership on projects and while getting lunch or coffee. This kind of close-knit experience really helped my professional development and made my summer enjoyable.

What I wish was different

I got the initial internship offer rather late in the spring. I wished it had been earlier.

Do not be afraid to ask questions and put yourself out there to get to know the staff. This will not only make the summer more enjoyable but also gives you the opportunity to learn and get to be hands on with various projects. I took the initiative to do this and the staff took notice and gave me more opportunities within the company.
