TechGarage / STEM HQ is an educational non-profit organization that operates fun and competitive robotics programs for students as a practical way to get them engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) concepts. We serve students ages 8-18 primarily in our Boca Raton facility in the Tech Runway on the northern end of the FAU campus. We are open 3 week-day evenings and the weekends when our team members meet at least twice per week to build robots and compete with each other. In addition to our Boca location, we currently have "remote" locations in at-risk communities where the students build, program, and practice at the community centers in their neighborhood.
During the fall season our students form teams and compete in the Robot Drone League. In this competition there are 8 students, 2 robots, and 2 drones per team and they battle on a field the size of a 1/2 basketball court. We host competitions one weekend per month. Our spring programs consist of: MATE and SeaPerch underwater robots, Virtual Reality League, and the FIRST Robotics Competition. We also host a 4-week technology summer camp at the AD Henderson/ FAU High School
