Station1 is an exciting new nonprofit higher educational institution that is building a foundation for the university of the future through a new integrated approach to inclusive and socially-directed science and technology education, research, and entrepreneurship. Founded by MIT Professor Christine Ortiz, the mission of Station1 is to expand educational opportunity and to develop equitable, ethical, and sustainable science and technologies. Station1 partners with leading startup companies and university research laboratories within the greater Boston entrepreneurial ecosystem in emerging fields such as computational biotechnology, biomanufacturing, agricultural technology, civic technology, inclusive social media, advanced manufacturing and digital automation, autonomous aeronautics, and nanoscale materials design.
