- State Farm Hack Day was an amazing experience, I highly recommend to everyone who interns here
- The cafeteria
- The mentor system
What I wish was different
It took longer than expected for me to jump into my work due to the lengthy approval process required for gaining access to tools
Advice
It can only benefit you to be social and make as many personal connections as possible with other interns, employees, and leadership

Sales intern
June - July 2019 • Iowa City, IA
What I liked
- Experience in any career field
- Gained certifications to sell property and casualty insurance
What I wish was different
I wish I could’ve stayed longer, but I had to end my internship and make more money elsewhere to pay for my summer tuition.
Advice
Study hard for your property and casualty exams. I was able to pass them the first try, but if you don’t, you have to pay to take them again. Passing the exams the first time shows that you’re serious about the field.

Marketing Intern
February 2019 • Knoxville, TN
What I liked
The sales experience selling to new clients and building new relationships
What I wish was different
More face to face contact as opposed to phone calls
Advice
Don’t be afraid of rejection. It comes often in the sales world. It’s a contact sport. The more contact we make, the more opportunities we have to sell!
