St. Christopher Camp & Conference Center

About St. Christopher Camp & Conference Center

Located on 314 pristine acres at the mouth of the North Edisto River on Seabrook Island, SC, St. Christopher is a non-profit camp and conference center run by the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina.
St. Christopher has 4 key departments that hire on a regular basis.

1) Camp Saint Christopher (CSC) is our Christian summer camp that has been in operation for 85 summers. This dynamic program is centrally focused on strong biblical teaching, worship, and small groups. Staff are directly involved in ministering to our campers, while also leading activities such as sailing, kayaking, team building, rock climbing, hiking, arts and crafts, and much more! Camp Saint Christopher hosts 900-1000 campers each summer ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. Each summer, Camp Saint Christopher hires 30+ Christian staff members to serve from mid-May through early August. Hiring starts in Fall leading up to summer.

2) The Barrier Island Environmental Education Program has been operating for over 40 years. This is our unique residential school program, which serves over 6500 guests annually. School students come for 3 days, 2 nights throughout the school year. Participants experience a student-centered, inquiry-based program focusing on barrier island ecosystems along with its associated flora and fauna, human impact on our environment and team building. Our programs are suited primarily for 4th-6th grade, however the naturalist staff are prepared and trained to teach 1st to 12th grade. Schools can choose either the traditional or Christian based curriculums. Barrier Island hires 10-14 Christian naturalists every year to work mid-August through mid-May. Hiring starts in January, and continues until the positions are filled.

Head of Teaching

April 2019 - August 2019 Seabrook Island, SC
“I liked being able to help create a curriculum that allowed myself and the rest of the staff to teach campers about God. It was a unique challenge to create a different curriculum that would be used depending on that weeks age group but it all centered around one key passage of scripture which was exciting. ”
