I loved that I was able to do a number of jobs in the resource center. I enjoy variety in my work and was able to work in childcare, stock needs-kits for guests, run errands, attend meetings, answer phone calls to connect guests to resources, and enter information in a database. It was such multi-faceted work that kept my interest level raised and allowed me to learn a lot.
What I wish was different
Advice
Go with the flow! In human services jobs, be prepared to end up doing work in the day that you did not anticipate. On a busy day, you might be working with people for several hours rather than answering phone calls or planning a future event, for example. Be adaptable and willingly accept changes.
